I did 20 casts of every A-bait and each synthetic. I listed these baits in order of  frequency. The first bait listed should be the best bait. Let me know if you find any BIG discrepancies,

    My FTF skill is still rusty. Can anyone tell me what's minimum stats(att, skl, ctr) to catch Blanket Octopus? I have OT 18upgrade &30 combine.

    With OT like the one you have you should be able to easily catch it with att stats of 3000. I caught mine with SSF level 16 no combination and att stats of 31**.
    Good luck.
    I'm still missing the shark and the coelacanth though.
    Any sweet spots for these 2 yet?

    My ftf skill must have a limit coz I can catch Chinese Paddle with about 60~70% success rate but Blanket Octopus is way beyond my skill.
    Some body help me catch this bastard?

      It's really pretty much the same as Chinese Paddle fish. I guess it depends on your rod, costume and stats. For me Octo and Paddle fish are almost identical. Not sure on how you ftf but if you don't use this method try it. 6-1 on gold reel, and then use your normal ftf with normal reel. I do oval stroke on right side of the reel when it's not gold.

    dink... also put sinner bait next to octo. I just got one with S chum and regular spinner. 8:24 a.m. est. around 11 o'clock cast into ripple.

    The octopus is about 17 to 25% stronger than the CP. Catching these or not depends on the factors:
    Att stats ( caught my octopus with 31** att ) sure it can be done with less too.
    Rod ( i caught BO with SSF +16 no combination upgrade)
    FTF technique ( I use 6 - 12 fastfastest 2finger technique ) ps: watch dinkdink's video about it.
    Device ( New devices are usually good as they don't lag and are pretty fast ) I use note 2.

      I am using Note 2 but it is just lately that I could land CP (OT +18 combined +14) att 45** even though it gives me hard time to land it ... but I wonder why I couldn't land it before ... I've tried 2 fingers ftf but not working with me (I have fat fingers) ... 6-12 o'clock ftf again is not working with me

      Caught the coelacanth using 3× SSS chum and rookie bait from the first cast 0 metre.

    Not sure if it's just me but I both have OT 18 & Vermil 18.
    I can catch CP, BO with OT but never be able to catch with Vermil
    Does anyone have same problem?
    The hook turns red faster with Vermil, it seems

      thats shocking ... I have OT +18 .., lately I've been able to land CP with it but not the BO ... I've tried couple of times but the line snaps at the last moments ..(3-6% health left ... really annoying) .. so I was saying to myself that I would definitely be able to land both CP and BO without any problem ... I think I won't upgrade my VB in this case

      You're not fast enough, if what u meant is catching them in tank. I'm able to get both CP and BO alive with over 30-40% HP remaining with SSF. Try to reel him closer with each stroke. If you're not reeling him in closer with each stroke you'll get red hook.

      Ok, after trial & error, finally got the hang of two finger FTF.
      Anyone with red hook issue should try to master two finger technique which posted in this blog.

    Just had Thresher Shark bite on A-Prawn while I was fishing for Snipefish for the event. About 75% distance, no ripples (Normal). No chum. 3:35pm ET.
